MANHATTAN — Vice President Joe Biden's niece, Caroline Biden, was taken into police custody Tuesday morning after getting into a fight with her roommate, according to police sources.

The incident happened about 9:30 a.m. at Biden's apartment on Desbrosses Street in TriBeCa when her roommate called police during a heated argument, sources said.

Biden then put up a fight while being taken into custody, sources added. The incident was first reported by the New York Daily News.

As of early Tuesday afternoon, Biden was being held at the 1st Precinct but had not been charged, sources said.

Police were still investigating the incident, an NYPD spokeswoman said.
