Street Chic was a guest recently at Duckie Brown and Parke and Ronen menswear shows at Industria Super Studios in the West Village. Both shows featured sophisticated and provocative plays on the possibilities of menswear styling.
Duckie Brown, designed by Steven Cox and Daniel Silver, made a strong, minimalist statement for spring 2014, featuring long, loose volume-white silhouettes. The world of Duckie Brown is not just playful but also clear, sharp and precise. Street Chic was very impressed with the tailoring of the collarless lace jacket and took note of the drop crotch shorts in a variety of fabrications, particularly in metallic.
Parke and Ronen, designed by Parke Lutter and Ronen Jehezkel, a brand known for sexy resort wear, this season featured a journey to Greece. Street Chic was quite taken aback at how very fashion-forward the colors were — coral, lemon, and bright blue. The Midas touch was seen on cotton linen gold windbreakers and shorts ready for a journey on the Onassis yacht. This is not a toss it a bag and dash to the beach wardrobe, but a serious statement about how to dress for destination resort. We also loved the gold chain necklaces and curled fluffed locks
