Police Investigating Harlem Crosstown Bus Assault as Possible Hate Crime

WEST HARLEM — A man on an M60 bus called another rider a racial slur and then punched him in the face, breaking his nose and eye socket, in what police are investigating as a possible hate crime, cops said.

The assault happened at 2:43 p.m. Aug. 30 when the suspect confronted a 31-year-old white man on a westbound M60 bus from LaGuardia Airport headed along West 127th Street, police said. The suspect shouted anti-white slurs and then punched the victim in the face, cops said.

Police described the suspect as a 35 to 40-year-old man, 5-foot-11, 185 pounds.
