CONEY ISLAND — Two young men ambushed, beat and robbed a 60-year-old man in broad daylight in Coney Island Wednesday, throwing the man onto the steps at the Ocean Parkway D & Q subway station before kicking and punching him, police said.

The suspects grabbed the victim's legs from behind and threw him down onto the stairs of the station at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, then stole the victim’s cellphone and escaped west on West Brighton Avenue, police said.

The victim was taken to Coney Island hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. He reportedly slammed his head on the stairs during the attack, cops said.

One suspect is described as a 20-25 year old man with a goatee and afro and was last seen wearing a camouflage tank top and gray jeans.

The other is allegedly an 18-20 year old man with black hair, last seen wearing a t-shirt with an American flag logo and gray jeans.

The police search for the suspects is ongoing, and no arrests have yet been made.
