Man Shot to Death in Soundview, Police Say

SOUNDVIEW — A gunman remained at large Monday morning after killing a Bronx man the day before, cops said.

The suspect started arguing with Rasheed Barton, 28, about 1:30 a.m. in front of 1379 Bronx River Ave. then drew his weapon and fired on Barton, according to the NYPD.

Barton, who lived nearby, was hit in the chest and buttocks, police said.

He was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital and pronounced dead, cops said.

Investigators released surveillance photos of the suspect Sunday night.
