BROOKLYN — Ever wanted to learn how to hang upside down on aerial silks? Or how to paint graffiti like a street artist? Brooklyn Magazine’s new online database Brooklyn Classes makes it easy to find out-of-the-box classes all over the borough.

Brooklyn Classes, which launched Thursday, lists hundreds of upcoming workshops in topics including art, languages, kids activities, dance, music, technology, cooking, and sports. It’s a partnership with CourseHorse, a website used to search and sign up for over 30,000 classes in the five boroughs.

CourseHorse approached Brooklyn Magazine about a collaboration a few months ago. “We’ve seen a rise in people who are taking classes for pleasure in Brooklyn,” said Evan Fain, vice president for partnerships and marketing at CourseHorse.

CourseHorse supplies the basic information component of Brooklyn Classes, including locations, descriptions, levels, average class size, age restrictions, dates and times. Brooklyn Magazine provides a content-focused element to the project in the form of a weekly newsletter that will highlight classes and interesting instructors.

There are no restrictions on the types of classes that are listed. Some are as pricey as a five-session, $1,100 course on woodworking at the arts education center 3rd Ward. And many, like juggling at JuggleFit, cloth-diapering techniques at Caribou Baby and community yoga at Elite Fitness Studio are free. Some are one-off workshops and others happen weekly.

Signing up for the classes on Brooklyn Classes offers extra benefits like the last-minute deals feature, which gives customers discounts on select classes up to 10 days before they take place. Users are also rewarded points towards discounts on future classes every time they enroll in a class that isn’t free.

Brooklyn Classes is also offering users $10 off on their first class and a $100 gift certificate to 3rd Ward.

Highlighted classes include:

- Brewshop 101: Home Brewing Essentials takes place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 700 Washington Avenue. The price varies, but the lowest is $55.

- Aerial silk skills for those of all levels at Williamsburg’s Helium Aerial Dance at 241 Bedford Ave, Studio 7 for $35. Classes take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

- The Brooklyn Kitchen at 100 Frost Street has different, inventive cooking classes at 6:30 p.m. a few nights each week. Upcoming ones include pickling on Monday August 19 and on August 30 a “Mystery Basket Class” based on the TV show “Chopped,” where chefs must invent and cook a dish with unknown ingredients given to them.

- Capoeira lessons are at Brooklyn Boulders on 575 Degraw Street for $22 at 7 p.m. on Mondays and Fridays through August 23.
