Driver Dies After Crashing Into a Pole in The Bronx

NEW YORK CITY — A motorist died Friday morning after he slammed the 1997 Saturn he was driving into a pole in The Bronx, cops said.

The 22-year-old man, whose identity was not immediately released, was driving north on West Farms Road Claremont Village in the southbound lane until he crashed near East 174th Street about 2:40 a.m., according to the NYPD.

He was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
