WINDSOR TERRACE — A seafood joint serving lobster rolls, oysters, clams, shrimp and craft beer is slated to open soon on 16th Street and Prospect Park West.

The eatery will move into the space at 471 16th St. formerly occupied by the ice cream shop Scoopz, said Benjamin Heitner, the accountant for the new restaurant.

To be called Brooklyn Oyster Company, the pint-sized seafood shack will have a "no-frills" vibe, Heitner said.

"We want a nice simple feeling," he said. "We really don't think we're a destination spot. We're trying to build it to blend in with the neighborhood."

Brooklyn Oyster Company's co-owners are Martin and Mark Whelan, Irish brothers who run a string of bars in Manhattan including Stout NYC, Maggie's Place, and St. Andrews, all of which are in Midtown.

If the brothers' seafood venture in Brooklyn succeeds, they could try replicating it elsewhere, Heitner said. Brooklyn Oyster Company is expected to open within the next month, Heitner said.
