QUEENS — Put your best Hawaiian shirt on.
Forest Hills will turn into a "mini-Margaritaville” this Wednesday, as Parrotbeach, a New Jersey-based Jimmy Buffett tribute band, will play a free concert in a parking lot on Metropolitan Avenue, the organizers said.
The concert will kick off at 7:30 p.m. at a tent-covered Maspeth Federal Savings Bank lot, which can fit more than 200 people.
“Every year, we sponsor concerts as community events,” said Michael Kearnes of Maspeth Federal Savings Bank. “This year we are having 'the best of Jimmy Buffett and Island Music.'”
In previous years, Forest Hills residents were entertained by Real Diamond, a Neil Diamond tribute band, and Stayin’ Alive, a Bee Gees cover band.
The Parrotbeach concert kicks off at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, at Maspeth Federal Savings Bank parking lot at 101-09 Metropolitan Ave. in Forest Hills.
