CARROLL GARDENS — It's time to get those brows in shape.
Shen Beauty, a high-end neighborhood boutique, is opening a 'Brow Bar’ Wednesday that will offer $35 brow and eyelash styling services.
Brow artist Megan Born, who says her client list includes several celebrity names, adds that she's been shaping eyebrows professionally more almost six years.
Spending at least 30 minutes on each client, Born said she gives each brow, for men and women alike, a “full and natural” look.
And at $35, the service is more than double the price of other neighborhood salons. But the brow bar offers a “more comprehensive service,” Born said.
She added that she advises her clients on getting the best shape for their brows through waxing, tweezing and threading.
Born, 29, has faced a few “star-struck moments” with some clients but she won’t “kiss and tell,” she said.
Aside from brow shaping, the bar will offer brow and eyelash tinting, priced at $20 and $25, respectively, as well as nose trimming to clean out nostril hair.
“It’s one of those things that people get totally addicted to,” she said.
Jessica Richards, owner of Shen Beauty, said the brow bar would appeal to women in the neighborhood who can’t always venture into the city for high-end treatment.
“We’re not a cheap, little $7 place,” said Richards, adding that there has been a demand for beauty services at the shop since the shop opened in 2010.
The store, located at 315 Court St., sells a range of facial, hair and make-up products. Some, including Phylia, Percy & Reed and Kate Logan Beauty, are exclusive to the shop, she said.
The Brow Bar is open Sundays from noon to 6:00 p.m. and Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
