BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — The owners of three South Brooklyn bars will soon open their first location north of Atlantic Avenue.

Brothers Seth, Ben and Mike Wiley will open up their fourth Brooklyn bar — after Carroll Gardens' Bar Great Harry and Park Slope bars Mission Dolores and The Owl Farm — at 502 Franklin Ave. in Bed-Stuy, the owners said.

After the previous tenant, Adama African Hair Braiding, closed its doors earlier this year, the brothers decided to grab the spot, and have been working for the last few weeks to bring something they thought the neighborhood needed.

"It's really kind of a nice utility for this area," brother Seth said. "It's a light-bites, hangout spot."

The bar, whose name is "still a secret," will provide some craft beers and small dishes for a laid-back experience similar to that of Bar Great Harry, Seth Wiley said. The brothers are working with local chefs and sandwich shops to develop a menu.

Seth Wiley, who has a background in architecture and construction, designed the space, and previously designed and built out the Fort Greene bar Splitty. Ben Wiley, who has a cooking background, will mostly oversee the food.

In addition to the beer and snacks, the brothers will bring another staple of their previous three bars to the Bed-Stuy location. The back room will house two pinball machines for would-be wizards to enjoy, and the owners plan on bringing pinball tournaments to the space.

The unnamed bar should open in September, Seth Wiley said.
