BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Kids can't stand the heat in Bed-Stuy? Head to one of the neighborhood's playgrounds and cool down.

The Parks Department has decked out about a dozen playgrounds in Bedford-Stuyvesant with sprinkler systems for the kids to enjoy on a hot summer's day.

Parks are open from 8 a.m. to dusk all year long, and the sprinklers run through most hot days in the summer months.

Below, check out some of the parks in Bed-Stuy where kids can keep cool while the temperatures rise.

Star-Spangled Playground, Franklin Avenue between Willoughby and DeKalb avenues

This park features a play area complete with four sprinklers, where kids can play during park hours. For the older crowd, Star-Spangled is adjacent to a soccer field, handball and basketball courts and  at J.H.S. 117.

Lafayette Gardens Playground, entrance near DeKalb Avenue and Taaffe Place

Lafayette Gardens boasts four playgrounds, two of which contain seal-shaped sprinklers for the kids to run through. The housing development is also across the street from another sprinkler inside Classon Playground at Classon and Lafayette avenues in Clinton Hill.

Marcy Playground, Myrtle Avenue between Marcy and Nostrand avenues

One of the largest parks in the neighborhood, Marcy Playground features four frog-shaped sprinklers alongside basketball, handball and tennis courts.

Potomac Playground, Tompkins Avenue between Halsey and Macon streets

St. Andrew's Playground, Herkimer Street between St. Andrew's Place and Kingston Avenue

Potomac and St. Andrew's playgrounds are both great options for people who live near the southern border of Bedford-Stuyvesant, and both feature spray showers to help the kids cool down.

Raymond Bush Playground, Monroe Street and Marcus Garvey Boulevard

This uniquely-designed spray shower will have kids running through hoops and around giant, spraying pencils and paintbrushes.
