YORKVILLE — Two men stuck up a neighborhood grocery late Monday night punched the cashier, according to the New York Police Department.

Police say that the crime began at 11:08 p.m. Monday at the Hi-Fi News and Grocery, 1734 Second Ave. with East 90th Street.

One of the men entered the store, put on work gloves, and went behind the counter, cops said.

A second man entered the store and pointed a gun at the clerk, police said.

The bagman behind the counter pocketed money from the register and then punched the clerk before taking more cash, cops said.

The two men then fled on foot, heading South on Second Avenue, according to the Department.

The clerk was not hospitalized, police confirmed.

Cops said that one of the suspects is a 25-year-old male who was last seen wearing a white long sleeve shirt, black and red hat, and blue jeans.

They describe the second suspect as  wearing a black shirt and red cap.
