12 Subway Lines Undergo Service Changes This Weekend

NEW YORK — Service changes were set to affect 12 subway lines across the city over the weekend, including the 1, 2, 4, 5, A, C, D, E, F, M, N, Q, and R trains, officials said.

Among the changes are no local service on the Broadway 1 train line in both directions between 34th Street and Chambers street and no service at all. 14th Street and South Ferry, 5 trains terminating Brooklyn service, and A trains running via the F line.

Below is the information on service changes by train line:

1 Train:

From 11:30 pm on Friay June 14 to 5 am June 17, 1 trains will not run between 14th Street and South Ferry due to a construction project on Courtland Street. 

Free shuttle buses will provide service between Chambers Street and South Ferry. The 1 will also be only making express stops in both directions between 34th Street Penn Station and Chambers Street. 

Overnight downtown 1 trains will run locally between Times Square 42nd Street and 14th Street. 

2 Train: 

Downtown 2 trains will skip 149th Street Grand Concourse due to station repairs. The MTA advises customers to take Bx2 or Bx19. 

4 Train:

4 trains will make local stops in both directions between 125th Street and Grand Central-42nd Street.

5 Train:

Due to signal work, 5 trains will run local between 125th Street and Grand Central-42nd Street. 

Southbound 5 train service will terminate at Bowling Green this weekend, and will bypass the Grand Concourse-149th Street station due to maintenance.

A Train:

uptown A trains will run via the F line between Jay Street-Metro Tech and West 4th Street. The A will run local between West 4th Street and 168th Street due to asbestos removal on the tube north of Jay Street Metro Tech and track maintenice north of 125th Street. 

C Train:

C trains are being rerouted via the F line from Jay Street Metro Tech to West 4th Street. 

D Train:

D trains will run local this weekend from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to 145th Street due to track maintenance at the 125th Street station.

E Train:

The E will be rerouted via the F line between 36th Street in Queens and West 4th Street. Jamaica Center bound E trains will be running express from Canal Street to 34th Street Penn Station.

F Train:

Jamaica bound F trains will run express from West 4th Street to 34th Herald Square due to track work. 

M Train:

M service will be suspended between Metropolitan Ave and Myrtle Ave due to station renewal. Free shuttle buses will provide service to the Fresh Pond Road, Forest, Seneca, Knickerbocker, and Central Avenue stations. 

N Train:

The N train will be rerouted via the Q line in both directions. 

Q Train:

Track panel work at Sheepshead Bay will cause the Q to run express between Sheepshead Bay and Kings Highway this weekend. The changes are scheduled to occur from 10:45 pm Friday to 5 am Monday. 

R Train:

R trains will be running via the Q line between Canal Street DeKalb Ave.

There will be no N or R trains in either direction at Jay Street-Metro Tech, Court Street, Whitehall Street, Rector Street, Cortlandt Street, and City Hall.
