BROOKLYN — Police were questioning a person of interest Tuesday morning in the death of 57-year-old woman found stabbed and beaten inside a Midwood home the night before, cops said.

Cops discovered the victim, whose identity was not immediately released, when they responded about 9:30 p.m. to an Avenue N home, near East 14th Street, on a call of a suspicious odor, according to the NYPD.

Inside, they found the woman in the bedroom with head trauma and multiple stab wounds to her back, police said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, cops said.

As of Tuesday morning, investigators were questioning a 62-year-old man who lived with the victim.

The person of interest was not immediately charged, and a police spokesman said their investigation is ongoing.
