BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Sit back, relax and let yourself go this Memorial Day weekend.

A Tribe Called Quest's D.J. Ali Shaheed Muhammad joins popular Bed-Stuy restaurant Do or Dine and D.J. crew Sound Liberation Front on Sunday for a backyard barbecue to kick off the summer.

The second annual Rub-a-Grub, from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m., takes place in the eatery's backyard at 1108 Bedford Ave., and features music from Muhammad, S.L.F. and D.J. Amir Abdullah, along wih a special barbecue and snack menu from Do or Dine owner and head chef Justin Warner.

Now in its second year, Rub-a-Grub is the brainchild of Warner and S.L.F., who came up with the idea after meeting last year, Warner said.

"They have really good musical connections, and we have a really dope spot and really dope food, if I do say so myself," Warner said. "So it was like a match made in heaven."

The chef and Food Network star is putting together snacks like nachos and deviled eggs for folks to munch on, as well as beef brisket.

Warner, who said he built his barbecue pit "out of cinderblocks and a beat up barrel," is looking to put together small portions for people to enjoy throughout the day.

"We don't want to make anything so cumbersome that you can't put it in your face, slam down a beer and just dance," Warner said.

He also hopes to continue the party later this year.

"We'll probably do another one on Labor Day," Warner said.

Advanced tickets are $15, or $25 for a VIP ticket that includes food and two beers. Cash only. Visit SoundLiberation.org for tickets.
