UPPER WEST SIDE — Marina and Kevin Krim, the Manhattan couple whose two children were allegedly stabbed to death by their nanny last October, announced Thursday that they're expecting a new baby boy.

"We are very happy to let you know that Marina is expecting a baby in the fall," the family posted on their Facebook page this afternoon — news that immediately received an outpouring of support from thousands of people.

On Oct. 26, Marina Krim returned home to her West 75th Street apartment, with her youngest daughter Nessie, 4, in tow, to find her two other children, Lucia, 6, and Leo, 2, dead in the bathtub, while her nanny, Yoselyn Ortega, tried to commit suicide in her bedroom.

Ortega survived the self-inflicted injuries and is on trial for murder. Police allege she stabbed the two children to death.

In April, court appointed medical examiners deemed Ortega, who is from the Dominican Republic and worked for the family for years, mentally fit to stand trial. Ortega's lawyer is challenging that determination.

The Krim family took a road trip this winter to try to create new memories as a family and for the sake of their daughter Nessie, they posted on their Facebook page.

The Krims also created the Lulu and Leo Fund to "promote extracurricular arts and science programs for students who would not otherwise have access to programs of these types."

The Krims closed their announcement by writing: "We are filled with many emotions as we look to the future, but the most important one is hope."
