SUNSET PARK — A motorcyclist was hurt after his bike collided with a school bus near 48th Street Tuesday morning, an FDNY spokesman said.

The bike and bus were traveling north on Second Avenue in Brooklyn when the two turned east onto 48th Street about 8 a.m. and the bike hit the right hand side of the bus, said a fire spokesman and witnesses.

The motorcyclist was screaming in pain before he was rushed to Lutheran Hospital, witnesses said.

"We heard somebody yelling, 'My leg, my leg' and all of a sudden I saw a guy laying down there at the side of the bus," said Jim Sanchez, who works near the accident site. "They were trying to calm him down because he was yelling hysterically about his legs."

The bus was carrying children at the time, but it did not appear that any of them had been injured.
