NEW YORK CITY — A man was charged with stabbing and killing his 60-year-old mother in their Rockaways home, cops said.
Sylvia Scott was pronounced dead after she was discovered about 12:43 p.m. with multiple stab wounds to her torso in her home on Shore Front Parkway, near Beach 77th Street, according to the NYPD.
Lonnie Scott, 35, was taken into custody later Monday, and charged with murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
It is unclear what sparked the violence, but cops said the two had not been fighting beforehand and didn't have a history of domestic disputes.
