15 Train Lines Disrupted This Weekend

NEW YORK CITY — Give yourself extra time to get where you're going this weekend with 15 subway lines slated for service changes.

Capital improvements to maintain and upgrade tracks, stations and signal systems affect the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, A, C, D, F, G, J, M, N and R trains, the MTA said.

Here's the breakdown on each line:

1 Train — There will be no service between 14th Street and South Ferry from 11:30 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday because of reconstruction at Cortlandt Street. A shuttle bus will run between Chambers Street and South Ferry.

1 trains will run express between Penn Station and 14th Street. 2 and 3 trains will run local between Penn Station and Chambers Street.

Downtown 1 trains will also skip 238th Street because of staircase repairs being done at the station.

2 Train — Trains will run local between Penn Station and Chambers Street from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

3 Train — Trains will run local between Penn Station and Chambers Street from 6:30 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and Sunday.

4 Train — Uptown trains will run express from Union Square to Grand Central from 11:45 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and Sunday from 11:45 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday morning.

Downtown 4 trains will skip 138th Street-Grand Concourse from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

5 Train — There is no train service between East 180th Street and Bowling Green from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The 5 train will still run between Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street.

Riders can take the 2 train for service between East 180th Street and 149th Street-Grand Concourse.

6 Train — Uptown 6 trains will run express from Union Square to Grand Central from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

A Train — There is no service between 168th Street and 207th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Shuttle buses will operate in two segments:

  • Between 168th and 207th streets, making stops on Broadway at 175th, 181st, 190th and Dyckman streets.
  • Between 168th Street and 190th Street, making stops on Fort Washington Avenue at 175th Street and 181st Street only.

Downtown trains will run express from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to Canal Street from 10:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Saturday, 10:45 p.m. Saturday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and 10:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Uptown trains will run express in Brooklyn from Euclid Avenue to Broadway Junction from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

C Train — There will be no trains between 145th and 168th streets from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday. The A train will make local stops at those stations.

Downtown C trains will run express from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to Canal Street from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday.

Uptown trains will run express in Brooklyn from Euclid Avenue to Broadway Junction from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday.

D Train — Downtown trains will run express from 36th Street to Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Saturday, 11:45 p.m. Saturday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

F Train — Coney Island-bound trains will be rerouted over the M line from 36th Street, Queens to 47th-50th Streets from 11:15 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Coney Island-bound trains will also be rerouted over the A line from West 4th Street to Jay Street-MetroTech from 10:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

G Train — There will be no service between Church Avenue and Hoyt-Schermerhorn from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. The train will run in two sections, between Court Square and Bedford-Nostrand and as a shuttle between Bedford-Nostrand and Hoyt-Schermerhorn, which will run every 20 minutes.

J Train — Trains will run in two sections from 12:45 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday between Jamaica Center and Essex Street and a shuttle between Essex Street and Chambers Street every 20 minutes.

M Train — Trains will bypass Central Avenue in both directions at all times until August.

N Train — Downtown trains will run express from 36th Street to Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Saturday, 11:45 p.m. Saturday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

R Train — Downtown trains will run express from 36th Street to Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center from 6:30 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday.
