TIMES SQUARE — This man faked a bomb threat on a Times Square-bound subway in the middle of the Boston Marathon bomb suspect manhunt, police said.

The blond-haired man carrying a black backpack in the image shown told a 911 operator on Thursday afternoon that a bomb on the N train was set to arrive in the heavily trafficked subway station in 5 minutes, cops said.

He placed the call at 3:31 p.m. a pay phone on the northeast corner of West 58th Street and 7th Avenue, police said.

The call came as the country combed over photos of the carnage from two bombs that exploded at the race's finish line. Authorities at time had revealed that the explosives were pressure cooker bombs that were likely carried in two black bags.

Anyone with information on the fake call is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or submit their tips on the Crime Stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM. Tipsters can also text to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
