Williamsburg and DUMBO to Connect Through Brooklyn Navy Yard Bus Route

By Meredith Hoffman | April 15, 2013 8:26am

WILLIAMSBURG — Soon these two Brooklyn neighborhoods will be linked by more than rising rents and waterfront views.

The extension of the B67 bus route is slated to connect Williamsburg and DUMBO through the Brooklyn Navy Yard as soon as this fall, the MTA announced.

The line, which currently starts in Kensington, would extend from its current end point at Jay and Sands street to the York Street F subway station, through the Brooklyn Navy Yard and to Wythe Avenue and Clymer Street in South Williamsburg, an MTA spokesman said.

The expanded weekday route, running from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m., will begin operating this September after public hearings on the extension this spring.

The line would not run through North Brooklyn, the MTA spokesman said, but it would connect with Williamsburg's B62 at Wythe Avenue.

A public hearing will be held April 29 at 6 p.m. on the proposed extension at Brooklyn Borough Hall, 209 Joralemon St.
