14-Year-Old Boy Fends Off Would-Be Robber In Bronx, Cops Say

JEROME PARK — A 14-year-old boy fended off a would-be thief after getting shoved up against a wall in a Bronx apartment building last Wednesday, cops said. 

The suspect had followed the victim into a residential building on Fort Independence Street and pressed boy to the wall in attempt to rob the him about 2:40 p.m. on March 13, according to the NYPD.

But the brave boy was able to stave off his attacker who then fled the scene empty-handed, cops said.

Cops described the suspect as about 5-foot-9-inches tall, approximately 140 pounds, and in his late teens.

He was last spotted on surveillance footage gripping a black baseball hat while wearing a maroon jacket and camouflage pants.
