NEW YORK CITY — Commuters expecting a smooth commute to work were socked with service disruptions on several vital subway lines during Wednesday morning's rush-hour.

Southbound 4, 5, and 6 trains were running express between Grand Central - 42nd Street and 14th Street - Union Square then local until Brooklyn Bridge - City Hall due to a signal problem, according to the MTA.

That issue was resolved about 9:12 a.m. with some residual delays, according to the MTA.

Signal problems at the 36th Avenue station were causing delays along Queens-bound N and Q trains about 9 a.m., according to the MTA.

The MTA advised commuters to allow for additional travel time.
