QUEENS — Even seniors can become yogis.

A branch of the Queens Library is offering yoga in which participants go through their moves while sitting on chairs.

A series of chair-yoga classes will start on Wednesday, at the Briarwood branch at 85-12 Main St., according to Queens Library.

“Chair yoga is appropriate for people who are not as mobile but they still want to get some exercise,” said Joanne King, the spokeswoman for the Queens library system.

Also on Feb. 20, the Woodside branch at 54-22 Skillman Ave. will kick off a series of gentle yoga classes, in which participants will learn basic yoga techniques and exercises.

King said the health and exercise classes that the library offers for seniors are very popular.

Classes are free but pre-registration is required.
