BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Two men walking near Halsey Street and Tompkins Avenue on Thursday night have taken the spotlight in the investigation into the murder of an ABC network employee, as the victim's friends and neighborhood acquaintances continue to reel over his death.

Police released a video Friday that showed two suspects walking in Bedford-Stuyvesant, shortly before Ivan Giovanettina, 41, was shot in his torso around 11:30 p.m. on Macon Street near Throop Avenue.

Giovanettina, a Swedish immigrant, had been a prop supervisor on ABC's "The Chew" and previously worked on "The Tyra Banks Show" and "America's Next Top Model," according to his Linked In profile. He also had run a Fulton Street coffee shop, Blu York, according to an online profile in 2011.

The video shows two men crossing a sidewalk, one with a black hooded sweatshirt, the other wearing a black tailored coat with a hood and also wearing a yellow knit cap.

"He was a cool guy," said Kevin Johnson, 32, a laborer who lives in the neighborhood. He said from what he heard, the victim was moving his car for alternate-side parking regulations, and the attackers were attempting a robbery. On Friday, Giovanettina's roommates told DNAinfo.com New York that the victim had left behind his wallet and keys in the apartment.

"It's weird because usually they don't shoot you if you don't have anything," said Johnson, who described Giovanettina as "a pretty fair guy. 'How are you,' that sort of thing."

Police would not confirm any details of the investigation on Saturday afternoon, but are asking for the public's help in finding the suspects.
