GERRITSEN BEACH — The body of a woman was found early Sunday morning, washed ashore on a Brooklyn waterfront, police said.
The woman, whose age and identity were unknown, was found at 7:15 a.m. at a beach near Gerritsen Avenue and Lois Avenue off the Marine Park waterway, police said.
It was unclear what had caused her death, and police were awaiting an autopsy from the medical examiner, an NYPD spokeswoman said.
An investigation was ongoing, cops said.
