MANHATTAN — The man who admitted to pushing a subway rider to his death in a Q train station earlier this month was indicted by a Manhattan grand jury Tuesday afternoon, according to the district attorney's office.
Naeem Davis, 31, has been charged with intentional murder and murder through depraved indifference in the Dec. 3 death of Elmhurst resident Ki-Suck Han at the Seventh Avenue and 49th Street station.
Han, 58, was crushed by the train about 12:30 p.m. Dec. 3 after he exchanged heated words with Davis, who pushed him onto the tracks, police and witnesses said.
Han is survived by a wife and 20-year-old daughter who mourned his death at a Dec. 5 wake at Woo Ri Presbyterian Church in Flushing. The minister there said Han was a Korean immigrant who had lived in the United States for about 25 years but struggled to find work during the economic collapse.
Davis, who faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted, told DNAinfo.com New York in a Dec. 7 interview on Rikers Island that he never intended to kill Han — he just wanted Han to leave him alone.
Davis will be arraigned on the indictment charges in court on Jan. 15.
