BROOKLYN — Grieving parents in the borough most known for its family-friendly neighborhoods and suburban amenities have more than one place to share sorrows and commiserate over the deaths of 26 children and school workers in the massive killings Friday in Newtown, Conn.

Park Slope Parents, a local blog and parental support organization, had a list of seven vigils taking place Saturday afternoon around the borough from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The first vigil began in the heart of Park Slope, just moments before Newtown police released a list of the rampage's victims, the majority — 18 — of which were just six years old. A total of 28 died in the outburst Friday, including the suspected shooter and his mother.

The site also outlined for ways to discuss the tragedy with young children, citing social workers and child development experts' tips as a way to supplement school activities or group vigils.
