By Aidan Gardiner | December 14, 2012 7:24am

BELMONT — Cops are looking for a suspect they said ripped a chain from around a 74-year-old man's neck in The Bronx.

The victim was walking past 485 E. 180th St., near Washington Avenue, just before noon on October 20 when he was assaulted and robbed, according to the NYPD.

The thief ripped the chain from his victim's neck and shoved him to the ground before fleeing the scene, police said.

The victim, whose identity was not released, refused medical attention, cops said.

The NYPD described the suspect as being between the ages of 18 and 25, standing about 5-foot-8-inches tall, approximately 180 pounds, and was last seen wearing a blue hoodie, blue sweat pants, and black and white sneakers.

Anyone with information about the attack should submit a tip at NYPD Crime Stoppers or call 800-577-TIPS.
