BROOKLYN — A mechanical issue on an L train at Montrose Avenue caused rush hour delays for commuters Thursday morning, according to the MTA.

The details of the malfunction were not immediately known, but the authority's web site said Manhattan-bound trains were being terminated at the Myrtle Avenue stop in Brooklyn. Canarsie-bound trains were stopping their route at Lorimer Street, according to the MTA.

The delays frustrated straphangers.

"They need to pull it together," said Rachel, 34, a model agent. "Unfortunately, there's no way to know you are going to be half an hour late to work until you get to the train."

Service was restored a short time later.
