Woman Raped in Bronx Apartment Building, Police Say

THE BRONX — Police are looking for a man accused of raping a 21-year-old woman in a Mott Haven apartment building early Sunday morning, authorities said.

The suspect followed the victim into an apartment building near East 143rd Street and Morris Avenue about 1:30 a.m., forced her into a stairwell and sexually assaulted her, police said.

Police described the suspect as a man in his 20s, 5-foot-7, with a bump on his left cheek. He was last seen wearing black sweatpants, a black hooded sweatshirt and a Yankees hat, police said.
