SOUTH OZONE PARK — A cyclist was struck and killed by a trailer Friday evening while riding his bike in the parking lot of the Aqueduct Racetrack, officials said.

The victim, 37, was found lying on the ground with severe body trauma at 5:18 p.m., police said, and was later declared dead at the scene.

The trailer, which was used for horse transportation, was driven by an employee of the racetrack, the NY Daily News reported, and police said the man, 53, remained on the scene.

Investigators said the driver claimed he could not see the bicyclist who was also a racetrack employee, the News wrote, amid the dark and rain.

No criminality is suspected, police said.
