RIDGEWOOD — Cops are hunting two men who pretended to be police officers to access a man's apartment and rob him, officials said.

Packing guns, the suspects displayed bogus police badges and tried to barge into the unidentified victim's Cypress Avenue apartment about 1 p.m. on September 26, an NYPD spokesman said.

The two men fled empty-handed, police said.

The victim, a 49-year-old man, was home at the time, but wasn't injured, officials said.

The first suspect was last seen wearing a grey and black baseball cap, grey sweater, black gloves, dark jeans, and black boots, officials said.

The second suspect was last seen wearing an Atlanta Braves baseball cap, a light grey jacket, a white shirt, black gloves, blue jeans, and black boots.
