RIDGEWOOD — A school bus and a Mercedes Benz collided near 64th Street Tuesday morning, leaving 10 people injured, officials said.

The injuries to the victims, eight of whom were children, were not considered life-threatening, according to the FDNY.

The small bus crashed with the grey Mercedes car about 8 a.m. near 62nd Avenue, witnesses and a fire spokesman said.

Two adult passengers and a child were taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where they were in serious but stable condition, a fire spokesman said.

Seven other children sustained minor injuries. One of those victims also was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center, the spokesman said.

The bus was headed to P.S. 752 in Queens, a Department of Education official said.

The incident marks at least the fifth school bus accident in the past two months.

In an East Harlem accident on Oct. 22, a school bus flipped onto its side, crashed into another car, and then slid into a pole. There were no children on board and the driver was taken to a nearby hospital.
