Medical Vans Provide Drugs and Aid in Hard Hit Neighborhoods

NEW YORK — Vans armed with primary care providers have been dispersed to neighborhoods hit hard by Hurricane Sandy, providing medical care and prescription drugs to those in need.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg said the vans would be sent to the following locations in the Rockaways, Staten Island and Coney Island:

QUEENS:

Redfern Houses Playground
1462 Beach Channel Drive; Redfern and Beach 12th Street
Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Walbaums parking lot
112-15 Beach Channel Drive between Beach 112th and Beach 113th streets
Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

St. Frances de Sales
129-16 Rockaway Beach Blvd.
Hours: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Far Rockaway - Fort Tilden Park
Fort Tilden Park (closest end to Breezy Point); Beach Channel Boulevard
Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

CONEY ISLAND:

Coney Island - Our Lady of Solace
2865 W. 17th St. (at Mermaid Avenue)

STATEN ISLAND:

Staten Island - Miller Field
600 New Dorp Lane at Weed Avenue
Hours: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Staten Island - Mount Loretto
6581 Hylan Blvd. at Sharrotts Road
Hours: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
