FOREST HILLS — The bodies of two sisters were found inside a Forest Hills apartment on Wednesday morning, police said.

Both women — Leah Roth, 88, and Ilene Roth, 79 — were found around 10:50 a.m. with no obvious signs of trauma or forced entry into the apartment they shared on 108th Street.

Police said the superintendent entered the apartment after neighbors complained about a leak and found both women lying on the floor, unconscious and unresponsive.

Angelo, a maintenance worker at the building where the women lived who declined to give his last name, said he wasn’t sure how long the women had lived there but that the apartment had been their home for at least two decades.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
