CHELSEA — Two firefighters and one civilian were injured when a fire truck and a car collided in Chelsea on Monday afternoon, the FDNY said.

The firefighters were racing to respond to a report of a fire in the Holland Tunnel that turned out to be unfounded, an FDNY spokesman said. The fire truck was involved in a collision with a civilian vehicle at 11th Avenue and 30th Street about 2:23 p.m.

The two firefighters and the civilian sustained minor injuries. They were taken by ambulance to Bellvue Hospital.

The accident is under investigation. Details weren't immediately available on how the collision occurred, an FDNY spokesman said.
