BRIARWOOD — Cops are investigating the sexual assault of a 3-year-old girl in an 88th Avenue apartment building early Thursday, officials said.

Emergency responders rushed to the 88th Avenue building, near 139th Street, about 1:20 a.m. after receiving a 911 call about a female being sexually assaulted, the FDNY and NYPD said.

The young victim's father had found a man in the girl's bedroom and kicked him out of the house, the NYPD said.

The 3-year-old was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition, the NYPD and FDNY said.

An NYPD spokesman said its Special Victims Squad was investigating the incident.

On Thursday evening, police released a sketch of the suspect, described as a 25-to-35-year-old man, 5-foot-7, last seen wearing a gray shirt and black jeans.

A police officer on the scene said the front door of the victim's building did not lock.

Adeeb Saeidi, who often stays with his cousin in the 88th Avenue building where the incident allegedly happened, said the neighborhood is safe enough to leave the front door unlocked.

"I've always known it to be very safe,” Saeidi, 21, said. “It's very strange that a crime would happen here."
