By Lisa Marsh | September 20, 2012 10:17am

MIDTOWN — There's a lot of love for Laverne.

Actress-turned-director-turned-memoirist Penny Marshall, known for her early work on the iconic sitcom "Laverne & Shirley," was feted by a host celebrities Wednesday in celebration of her new book.

Guests ranging from singer Mariah Carey and journalist Barbara Walters to Bravo's Andy Cohen and actor Kyle MacLachlan turned up at Monkey Bar in Midtown for the soiree.

Even childhood friend Calvin Klein, who grew up with Marshall in the Bronx, attended to show his support for the director/author.

Marshall's book, "My Mother Was Nuts: A Memoir," details her life from early days in the Bronx to her days as an actress, producer and director in Hollywood, sparing no joke along the way.
