Heated Race for Williamsburg District Leader 'Too Close to Call'

By Meredith Hoffman | September 14, 2012 11:11am

WILLIAMSBURG — Chris Olechowski reportedly stepped away from Thursday's primary for 50th District Leader with 200 more votes than incumbent Lincoln Restler, in a race that Restler said is still "too close to call."

The heated election race between Restler and Community Board One chair Chris Olechowski is not yet over, the Brooklyn Paper reports, with absentee ballots still to be counted.

Neither candidate could be reached immediately for comment, but Restler on his twitter page posted late Thursday night, "this race is too close to call...tradition!" presumably referring to his last election which also was so close it warranted a recount.
