INWOOD — A kitchen fire broke out in a second-floor apartment in an Inwood building Wednesday afternoon, the FDNY said.
The blaze started at 181 Vermilyea Avenue, near West 211th Street, about 12:15 p.m., a fire spokesman said.
Sixty firefighters responded and had the fire under control about 20 minutes later, the spokesman said.
There were no injuries, fire officials said.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
