Man Filmed Up Woman's Skirt at Brooklyn F Train Station, Cops Say

By Janet Upadhye | September 5, 2012 4:07pm

DUMBO — Cops are searching for a man who used his cell phone to film underneath a woman's skirt at the York Street subway station.

Wanted signs posted in and around the F train station warn straphangers that the suspect, in his late 20's to early 30's, filmed up a woman's skirt at approximately 9 a.m. on Aug. 20.

"It's very creepy," said Shaguanna Grant, 31, who uses the station daily. "I was riding the train that very morning and I'm glad it didn't happen to me."

Grant said that she uses the York Street station as opposed to the nearby High Street station because she felt that it was safer.

"But I guess you're not totally safe anywhere," she said.

Street vendor Muhammad Islam, who sells fruit outside of the station, said police were hanging the posters early Tuesday morning.

"Most women that enter the station definitely stop to look at the posters," he said, adding that he keeps a poster given to him by the police in his back pocket and is on the lookout.

Cops asked anyone with information to call Det. Hubert Reyes at 718-287-3239.
