Dos Toros Coming to Bedford Avenue

WILLIAMSBURG — The zesty Mexican dishes of Dos Toros are about to spice up Williamsburg right by the Bedford Avenue L train station.

The creation of former Third Eye Blind bassist Leo Kramer and his brother Oliver, who on their website claim their West Coast childhood eating at their "favorite taqueria eight days a week" in the Bay Area prompted them to open a New York eatery.

"This is our first time outside of Manhattan so it's exciting for us," said the West Village Dos Toros' general manager Diego Macias. "We'll open in December or January."

The classic selection of tacos, burritos and quesadillas with beans, rice, salsa and guacamole will remain consistent with the three Manhattan eateries, Macias said, and will include beer and wine service in the Brooklyn spot (former home of Turkish eatery Saksuka).

"We've been open 14 months," said Macias of the first Dos Toros. "It was time to open in the outer boroughs and this was the perfect location."
