Patrick Stewart's Move to Park Slope Spoofed on Tumblr

PARK SLOPE — Park Slopers, take heart. The captain of the Starship Enterprise dreads his work shift at the Park Slope Food Coop just as much as you do.

That's one of the jokes on a new Tumblr page, Park Slope Patrick Stewart, that imagines the famous actor and the characters he's portrayed ruminating on local issues such as bike lanes, a car-free Prospect Park and the Barclays Center.

Stewart reportedly bought a $2 million house in Park Slope recently, and the Tumblr homage, first reported by F---ed in Park Slope, popped up a few days after news of the actor's arrival broke.

One post shows a strident-looking Stewart in costume as Professor X from the "X-Men" movies with the caption, "Calm down. That organic honey is local. That dude from the farmers market wouldn't lie to me."

Another has a photo of Stewart and fellow English actor Sir Ian McKellen with the words, "Of course [Seventh Avenue's] Bagel Hole has the best bagels. Why is this even a discussion?"

The humorous blog, whose owner isn't identified, is similar to another Tumblr page fantasizing about heart throb Ryan Gosling joining the Park Slope Food Coop. (Sample post: Gosling in a shot from "The Notebook" with the caption, "Hey girl, doesn't this organic, local, non-GMO granola always taste sweeter when it's bought with cooperation?")

Stewart, who acted for decades with the Royal Shakespeare Company, is best known for his TV role as Captain Jean-Luc Picard on "Star Trek: The Next Generation."

He's recently been spotted at local haunts such as Zito's Sandwich Shoppe on Seventh Avenue, where he's a fan of the chicken parmesan sandwich, according to the restaurant's Twitter account.

The actor seems to have a sense of humor. He once lent his stentorian voice and impeccable diction to a "Hamlet"-inspired "Sesame Street" skit, "B or not a B."
