MIDTOWN — Firefighters evacuated eight floors of a Times Square building Friday morning for smoke conditions caused by an electrical problem.

The electrical problem was reported on the 45th floor of Times Square Tower at 8:15 a.m., an FDNY spokesman said. The resulting smoke condition caused fire fighters to clear out the 41st to 48th floors.

An investigation is ongoing into the cause of the incident, FDNY officials said.
