Back-to-School Flicks Usher in Fall at Nitehawk Cinema

By Meredith Hoffman | August 22, 2012 9:23am

WILLIAMSBURG — Anxious about summer's end?

Local film-and-booze staple Nitehawk Cinema will highlight the high socks, frat parties, rock music, lusty romances and scandalous detention hours that accompany autumn with a 1980s-themed "Back to School" program in September.

The theater's midnight and brunch-time flicks will feature all '80s high school and college shows, including "Valley Girl," "Animal House" and "Rock n' Roll High School."

"After all the mid-week sleepovers, theme park visits, beach days and brown bag afternoons in the park fade away ... it's time to wake up for school!" reads the cinema's announcement of the new theme. "Pop the tags off your new clothes, dust off the Trapper Keeper, and pay attention!"

A full schedule can be found on the cinema's website.
