THE BRONX — A 24-year-old Claremont man was charged Tuesday with a man outside a public housing project Sunday night, the NYPD reported.

Gabriel Perez, who lives in the Butler Houses on Webster Avenue, was charged with murder, manslaughter and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Perez allegedly shot Ernest Brown, 47, once in the torso at 1348 Webster Ave. in a courtyard of the Butler Houses, police said.

Brown was taken to Bronx-Lebanon Hospital, where he died, police said.

Brown "appeared to be homeless," a police source said, but occasionally stayed with a family member at the Butler Houses.
