QUEENS — Police found an inert grenade in a St. Albans home early Tuesday morning, the NYPD said.

The grenade, which a police source described as "probably a relic of some kind," was discovered in a residence near 178th Place and Leslie Road some time after 2:30 a.m.

"At one time it could've been functional, but it wasn't at the moment," the source said.

No arrests were made. It was unclear how the grenade ended up at the residence.
