THE BRONX — Two cops were injured late Thursday while taking a rowdy couple into custody at a midnight showing of the "The Dark Knight Rises" in a Melrose movie theater early Thursday, the NYPD and news sources reported.

The movie-goers, who were allegedly being disruptive during the Batman movie screening at Concourse Plaza Multiplex, put up a fight when officers attempted to escort them from the theater about 11:45 p.m., the Daily News said.

The unidentified cops were injured in the process.

One officer was cut on his finger, and the other had ringing in her ears from being hit in the head, the Daily News and CBS New York reported. Both were treated at New York-Presbyterian Columbia Medical Center and released, police said.

The couple, an unidentified man and woman, were arrested and each charged with assaulting police officer, police said.
